Lush

I’m sure I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion that I love all things dirt, clay and other earthly elements to cleanse my face with. Lush Coalface was always going to make it’s way into my bathroom – it was just a matter of time.

This beautiful charcoal grey bar of loveliness makes your face squeaky clean – it takes off whatever is on your face but it doesn’t leave it tight and dry. This lathers quickly to give you a nice asphalt coloured foam and I think there are few bits of grit thrown in for good measure but they are few are far between so don’t worry about this being too rough. You really have to love the scent of licorice and aniseed which I actually hate, but it doesn’t stop me from using this.

The only snag with Coalface is that being a soap bar, how do you stop it from melting? After nearly 41 years I’ve finally bought a clue when it comes to use facial soap. Cut it off into little chunks so it doesn’t turn to sludge, then you don’t end up throwing it away because it’s been sat in a pool of fetid water. Also by cutting off chunks it makes this last longer. I can change up my cleansers when this runs out and then I can go back to it when I want to. Everyone wins!

What is your favourite Lush cleanser?

I was quite excited when I bought Lemony Flutter a few weeks ago but after trying it a few times I found I was disappointed with the texture and scent. I don’t like to waste things so I’ve asked my mate from work to do this review so over to you Lizzy!

Being a tree hugging hippy I love LUSH products simply for their ethical values and fresh organic content so I was eager to give the Lemony Flutter cuticle cream a go. I am also a moisturising queen, so a new addition to my ever swelling moisturising collection is always irresistible and exciting.

My first thought on opening the tub was “Wow! That smells AMAZING!” and it does! It could not be lemonier! A word of warning on the smell though, I loved it but after a quick google search for other reviews it seems that the smell is an acquired taste so give this stuff a sniff before you buy a pot just to make sure you think it’s as delicious smelling as I did.

The cream is very, very, very thick, in fact I think it’s the thickest cream I have ever used and it’s very greasy, for this reason I’ve found it’s best to use when I have got a bit of time to play with, that way I can massage a little in to my cuticles and fingers then just sit around and let it soak in. Before bed is also another good time to slap a bit on.

And the most important thing, it works wonders on dry skin. I didn’t just use this on my cuticles; I used it on my whole hands (largely cause each time I applied it I forgot how little was needed and ended up with loads to spread around) and feet. I didn’t use it every day because I found I didn’t need to however if I hadn’t used it for a couple of days I could tell. It really softens up dry skin, I used it a couple of times a week on my heels and it was wonderful, leaving me feeling rather proud of my nice soft and lemony smelling feet every time I slipped on a pair of flip flops!

Thanks Lizzy for your brilliant review – so what does everyone else think of Lemony Flutter?
